Lorsque nous vivions encore en France, j'étais persuadée que nous vivions une drôle d'époque, que partout, aussi bien aux Etats-Unis qu' en France il y avait indigence crasse, en matière de musique et de chansons, que les chanteurs américains n'étaient plus capables, de nous faire rêver, de nous faire danser, d'être comme à une époque, les précurseursles plus créatifs. Et qu'il n'y avait plus de chansons américaines, reprises et arrangées à la sauce française par tous nos chanteurs, nos rockers, Johnny Halliday en tête, et tant d'autres chanteurs Européens.
Et puis arrivée ici, je me suis rendue compte que, ne pas entendre de bonnes chansons américaines en France ne signifiait pas que la source était tarie. Que nenni ! Non cela signifie simplement qu'il y a une censure phénoménale en la matière de la part des medias, radios et télévisions français.
La musique américaine, je veux dire, la musique "country", (je ne parle pas du rap qui n'est pas de la musique - point de vue tout-à-fait personnel, ok !) ... la country celle qui est à l'origine du blues, du rock et de tout ce qu'on entend, rythmée ou nonchalante, romantique et émouvante est bien vivante, Dieu merci.
Et les bonnes chansons existent, je les entends tous les jours, elles racontent la vie de tous les jours, les joies, les peines, les amours heureuses ou malheureuses, les choses simples, les valeurs américaines, celles du bon sens, de la réalité et de la vérité. Sans oublier la touche permanente d'humour et d'humilité, et cette façon bien à eux, nonchalante et ronde, de ne pas se prendre au sérieux. Et c'est délicieux de réentendre les ballades, les romances, les rocks, les rythmes qui ne peuvent pas, ne pas séduire.
Et c'est bien parce qu'elles sont o combien attractives et irrésistibles, qu'il y a censure en France. Car il s'agit bien de censure.
En effet lorsqu'on tape dans le moteur de recherche Google France, "musique country"
- le premier site est Wikipedia : ok
- le deuxième site : Country-France.fr est doté par Google d'un message inquiétant et totalement dissuasif :
"Avertissement- Attention, l'accès à ce site risque d'endommager votre ordinateur".
J'ai passé outre cet avertissement et le site n'a RIEN FAIT DU TOUT à mon ordinateur bien sûr. Ce site a probablement seulement le tort d' être particulièrement bien fourni en renseignements de tout ordre, sur la country en France ... et aussi et surtout aux Etats-Unis, avec un vrai survol des chanteurs et chanteuses américaines et c'est peut-être ça le problème. En ce moment, au hit parade de la musique country, il y a trois femmes en tête, qui ont tout pour elles, la beauté, la voix, le talent. Ah oui ! Peut-être un problème pour la France, ... toutes les trois sont adorablement blondes, soignées, et sans une once de vulgarité.
Régulièrement je posterai des video youtube de ces chanteurs et chanteuses quand leurs chansons seront accessibles.
- Le 3ème site : Top Country doit dater d'il y a dix ou vingt ans et ne reflète en rien la country actuelle aux US et encore moins le top.
- Le 4ème site : Virginmega fr : Vend quelques morceaux pas récents au téléchargement.
- Les autres sites sont uniquement ou presque des sites recensant les seules chanteurs français de country. Je me demande d'ailleurs si ces derniers ont un accès facile à la télé française ... ? J'en doute un brin. Les chanteurs américains de country y sont de plus, soigneusement "sélectionnés". C'est bizarre, sur aucun site n'apparaît un des plus célèbres d'entre eux : Toby Keith, on se demande bien pourquoi ... Comme c'est mon préféré j'y reviendrai largement.
Donc pour que les quelques Français qui viennent sur ce site, découvrent peut-être avec plaisir ce que font et ce que sont les Américains, à travers les chansons que je montrerai régulièrement, voici ci-dessous le clip video du dernier tube d'Alan Jackson, qui va faire un tabac cet été, avec une "danse en ligne", sur 35 kilomètres depuis Nashville, de personnes qui dansent au même moment : de la gaieté, de l'entrain, de l'humour, du rythme et un air qui ne vous sort plus de la tête "Good Time"

COUNTRY MUSIC
When we were still living in France, I was persuaded that we were living in strange times and that this was the case all over the world - in the United States too. In France there was gutter poverty concerning music songs, and I thought that American singers just weren't able to make us dream, dance anymore, and that they couldn’t be what they used to be before, the most creative precursors. And also that there were no more American songs, covered again and again, in a re-arranged French style by all our singers and rockers, Johnny Halliday the first of them, and so many other European singers.
But when we came in the States, I realized that not hearing good American songs in France didn't mean that the source had dried up. Not at all ! It simply meant that there was a phenomenal censorship of those songs, carried out by the French media, radios and televisions.
American music, I mean "country" music ( I'm not talking about rap which, in my own personal point of view simply is not music … yes), country music that is at the origin of blues, rock'n'roll and everything we listen to, rhythmic and nonchalant, romantic and moving, is quite alive, thank God.
And there are good songs, I can hear them every day, that talk about daily life, its joys, its sorrows, happy or sad loves, the simple things of life, American values, those of common sense, reality and truth. And let's not forget the permanent touch of humor and humility, and the way those singers carry themselves, all nonchalant and round, without ever taking themselves seriously. It's really wonderful to hear ballads, love songs, good rock 'n rolls again, rhythms which cannot fail to seduce.
And it is because they are seducing and irresistible that these songs are censored in France. Because it really amounts to censorship.
Indeed, searching for "music country" on Google in French yields :
- as first result a Wikipedia page: that’s O.K.
- as second result a link to Country-France.fr which brings up a warning by Google that is really worrisome and dissuasive :
" Warning : accessing this website can damage your computer".
I didn’t bother and went ahead : the website didn’t affect my computer AT ALL, of course. The only "drawback" of this website is probably that it links to a particularly great number of websites providing all kinds of information on country music in France… but also and especially in the United States, with a true survey of American singers and that’s perhaps where the problem lies. At this moment, the hit parade of country music features three women at the top 3, who have everything: beauty, a voice, and talent. Oh, one possible problem for France … all the three of them are beautiful, extremely neat and without one ounce of vulgarity.
I will regularly post youtube video of these singers when their songs are accessible
- as 3rd site: Top Country dates back to ten or twenty years and doesn’t offer anything from the current country music, even less so about the actual hit parade
- as 4th site: Virginmega Fr : sells a few songs, not recent, with downloading.
The other sites are mainly French country singers. And I really wonder wether the latter have an easy access to French TV French … ? Somehow I doubt that.
Concerning the American country singers, they seem to be carefully "selected". Oddly enough, not one website mentions one of the most famous contemporary singers, Toby Keith, and I really wonder why … As he is my preferred one, I will largely come back to him.
So, for the French who read this blog, they might discover with pleasure what Americans do and are through the songs, I will display regularly, and hereunder is the video clip of Alan Jackson’s last song, which will make real hit this summer, featuring a 35 kilometer-long "line-dance" from Nashville on, with people who all dance at the same time : cheerfulness, spirit, humor, rhythm and an tune that doesn’t want to leave you : "Good Time".

En mars dernier, au Wales Millenium Center de Cardiff au Pays de Galles, avait lieu une émission de "télé-crochet" de la chaine britannique ITV : " Britains's Got Talent", menée par un jury de trois personnes auditionnant les futures vedettes. Se présente un petit bonhomme étonnant, plutôt discret, un peu gauche, et qui dans la vie, vend des téléphones mobiles. Avant l'émission il confie qu' à l'école on se moquait de lui et que, depuis, il manque de confiance en lui. Quand il se présente sur scène, un peu mal fagoté, visiblement mal à l'aise et tendu, le scepticisme du jury, à la limite du goguenard, est visible.
Et puis il se met à chanter ...
L'émotion à l'état pur ! Cet aria très connu : Nessun dorma du Turandot de Puccini, il en fait de la magie, du don sans calcul. C'est irrésistible et ça donne le frisson.
Et en voici encore un peu, pour la grande finale qu'il a remportée. Ah il s'appelle Paul Pottset on n'a pas fini d'entendre parler de lui ...

A STAR IS BORN
Last March, at the Wales Millenium Center of Cardiff in Wales, the broadcasting of an American Idol type on British ITV took place. Suddenly a rather discrete, somewhat weird and clumsy little man, who sells mobile phones for a living, appears. When he presents himself on stage, slightly badly dressed, obviously ill at ease and stressed, the skepticism of the jury, almost mocking can be felt.
And then he starts to sing ...
A moment of pure and raw emotion ! He turns this very reknowned aria : "Nessun dorma"from Puccini's Turandot into magic, without any calculation. It is irresistible and gives the shivers. And here's s a little bit more, for the great final that he won. Oh by the way, his name is Paul Pottsand this isn't the last time you will hear his name ...

Tous ces musiciens et chanteurs se retrouvent le jour dans les grands cafés, la nuit dans les caves en fin de soirée pour ensemble "faire une jam" ces jam sessions où chacun se fait plaisir ou "faire un boeuf" en référence au cabaretparisien : "Le bœuf sur le toit".

C'est tout l’esprit de ce lieu magique qui renaît.

THE JAZZ UNDER THE SKIN
Let's enjoy some small moments of pleasure and listen to some Jazz, Rhythms and Blues airs !
For starters :
Here is the very first one : it stressed and accompanied some films like "Le Passage", among others...
Then a tribute to a magical place in time, Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Imagine revolving in this district with Léo Ferré, George Brassens, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Charles Trénet, Guy Béart, and Serge Gainsbourg, with Boris Vian and Juliette Gréco, accustomed Saint-Germain-des-Prés afficionados if not residents.
All these night-bird artists listen to the New Orleans Jazz and the Be Bop at the Saint-Germain Club or the Blue Note with Sidney Bechet, Claude Luter, Miles Davis or Duke Ellington.
All these musicians and singers see each other during the day in the large cafés, and at night in the cellars to have "jam session" where each one gets his kicks , or "to make an ox" in reference to the Parisian cabaret: "The Ox on the Roof".
It's all the spirit of this magic place that reappears.

Toutefois dans certains cas de figures, la marche à suivre ci-dessous est toujours utilisable et actuelle.

A voir le nombre de fois où cette question est posée sur différents forums et blogs, et n'est créditée d'aucune réponse, j'ai pu me rendre compte qu'il n'est pas facile de trouver sur internet, un vrai protocole pour pouvoir mettre ses propres fichiers mp3, sur nos blogs de Blogger. Ces explications sont valables pour tous ceux qui n'y connaissent pas grand chose et essaient de se dépatouiller comme ils peuvent ...
Petite précision. Il y a plusieurs façons de mettre de la musique sur un blog. J'ai utilisé le petit logiciel libre et gratuit Dewplayer de Alsacreations, qui est vraiment bien fait, léger et sobre !
* Première étape évidente mais essentielle :
Créez sur votre propre disque dur, sur votre micro, un dossier dévolu à ça : "Musique sur le blog" par exemple.
Dans ce dossier vous mettrez les fichiers à télécharger quand nécessaire. Et mettez-y aussi tous les fichiers mp3, soit les votres, soit ceux que vous trouvez sur internet, fichiers que vous voudrez utiliser ensuite sur votre blog.
* Deuxième étape :
Pour pouvoir utiliser vos fichiers de musique il doivent être mis en ligne. On ne peut pas directement de son micro, les envoyer sur le blog. Donc il faut faire héberger tous les fichiers qui doivent être ensemble sur un hébergeur en ligne.
Il n'y en a pas beaucoup surtout gratuits. Et j'ai trouvé "fileupyours". En tout cas c'est celui que je trouve le plus simple et que j'utilise.
On clique droit sur dewplayer.swf et on fait Enregistrer sous
Et vous mettez le fichier dans votre dossier perso ( sur votre disque dur par ex "Musique sur le Blog" ).
* Quatrième étape :
Laissez pour l'instant la page de Dewplayer réduite dans la barre des tâches, on y reviendra, juste après.
Pour l'instant, retournez chez l'hébergeur Fileupyours.
Rentrez dans votre compte par Login
Arrivé sur la page affichée, cliquez en haut sur Upload ( blanc sur fond bleu marine )
Cliquez sur le premier Browse et allez chercher votre petit fichier Dewplayer que vous avez "enregistré sous" dans votre dossier perso sur votre disque dur, et faites Upload, en cliquant sur Up yours. Vous le verrez s'afficher dans le Main Folder de la page.
Vous pouvez déjà à ce moment si vous voulez, télécharger de la même façon, un ou plusieurs fichiers mp3, l'important étant qu'ils soient tous au même endroit que dewplayer.
Dès cette étape, dans fileupyours, cliquez droit sur le fichier dewplayer, faites Propriétés et récupérez l'adresse du type http :
Et faites pareil avec les fichiers mp3 et récupérez l'adresse du type http :
http://www.fileupyours.com/files/......mp3
Vous pouvez d'ailleurs ouvrir une nouvelle page de l'éditeur Wordpad et mettre ces adresses dans un dossier que vous pouvez par ex. appeler " Modèles pour mp3 ". Il vous servira de base pour tous les fichiers musique que vous voudrez afficher sur le blog.
* Cinquième étape :
Réouvrez la page Alsacreations de Dewplayer.
Allez à la rubrique Générateur de code HTML.
Là, moi j'ai choisi le plus simple : j'ai coché dans Version : normale
J'ai laissé tout le reste tel quel. Je n'ai rien coché de plus et j'ai fait OK
( Après, quand vous aurez testé que tout fonctionne bien comme ça, vous pourrez faire toutes les excentricités que vous voudrez)
Cela engendre deux tableaux HTML.
Moi, j'ai utilisé le 2ème, le plus petit, la Version valide W3C. Et ça donne ça (image1) :
* Sixième étape :
Faites un Copier du code HTML engendré et Collez-le sur le fichier Wordpad précédent "Modèle pour mp3" par exemple, pour pouvoir travailler dessus.
Repérez dans le code HTML le mot " dewplayer.swf " qui se trouve à deux endroits et insérez juste devant lui l'adresse http du fichier dewplayer ( de la 4ème étape, et qui se trouve sur Fileupyours ), en ne gardant dans les 2 cas, qu'un seul /dewplayer.swf
Repérez dans le code HTML le mot " .mp3 " à deux endroits. Supprimez le mot "test" et insérez juste devant le .mp3 l'adresse http du fichier mp3 que vous voulez utiliser ( de la 4ème étape, et qui se trouve sur Fileupyours ) en ne gardant qu'un seul .mp3.

Vous n'avez plus qu'à insérer ce code HTML à l'endroit adéquat dans la composition du post de votre blog, mais côté onglet HTML.
A noter deux choses :
- L'hébergeur Fileupyours est assez raide. Si on n'utilise pas le site pendant plus de 25 jours il supprime carrément le compte avec tout ce qu'il contient .....
- De temps en temps, Blogger peut "corrompre" le code ci-dessus ( il peut manquer une ligne ou deux ....). Il suffit d'abord de ... s'en apercevoir, puis de le remplacer en réinsérant le bon code à sa place. Et voilà !

As one can judge by the number of times this question pops up on various forums and blogs, without anybody answering it, I realized it is not easy to find on the Internet a true protocol describing how to put ones own MP3 files on a blog hosted by Blogger. The following explanations might be helpful to all those who are no experts at this and who are tinkering the best they can ...
A small precision. There are several ways of putting music on a blog. I used the small free piece of software "Dewplayer" of Alsacreations, which is really well designed, light and sober !
* First obvious but essential stage :
Create on your computer's hard disk a folder destined to that: "Music on the blog" for example. In this folder you will put the files to be saved when necessary. You can also stock there all your mp3 files, both your own files and those you found on the Internet, or files that you will want to use later on your blog.
* Second stage :
To be able to use your music files they must be uploaded online. As one cannot send them directly from one's computer to the blog it is thus necessary to host all the files which must remain together at the same location on an online host. There are not many of them, especially free ones. I found "Fileupyours". It is the one I find the simplest to use and the one I chose. Thus go to the following address:
and open an account, it is simple and the only requirements are a valid email address which you can use to confirm the account opening. Remember to add a shortcut to the Fileupyours website in your folder (on your disc, "Music on the Blog" for instance).
* Third stage :
Download the small Dewplayer software at this address :
Go to the "Téléchargement" heading there. Personnally I chose the "normal" version. Make a right click on dewplayer.swf and chose "Save As" the file in your personal folder ( on your hard disk, "Music on the Blog" for instance ).
* Fourth stage :
Minimize the Dewplayer web page and leave it in the taskbar, you will need it afterwards.
For now, go to the Fileupyours host.
Log in to your account.
In the new displayed page click on the top on "Upload" (white on blue background)
Click on "Browse" and select the small Dewplayer file that you "saved as" in your personal folder on your hard disk, then upload it by clicking on "Up Yours". You will see it displayed on the Folder Hand page.
You can if you want to upload at this time already, in the same way, one or more mp3 files, the important thing being that they all must be stored at the same place as the Dewplayer file.
At this stage, in fileupyours, right-click on the dewplayer file, choose Properties and retrieve the file address of the type HTTP :
You could by the way open a new page of your Wordpad editor and paste these addresses in a file which you can call "Models for mp3" for instance. This file will be used as a basis for all the music files which you will want to post on your blog.
* Fifth stage :
Reopen the Alsacreations page of Dewplayer.
Go to the HTML code generator "Générateur" heading.
There, I personally chose the simplest : I check Version : normale and leave all the remainder just as it is. I have nothing else checked and I click on OK ( afterwards, when you have tested the functionning of your files like this, you will be able to chose all the eccentricities you want )
This generates two HTML tables. I myself used the 2nd, smallest, "valid W3C version". And that gives that (see image1) :
Locate in the HTML code the word "dewplayer.swf" which will occur at two places, and insert right in front of it the httpaddress of thedewplayerfile (the one you obtained in the 4th stage and which should be uploaded on Fileupyours). In both places, only keep one "/dewplayer.swf".
Locate in the HTML code the word ".mp3" which will occur at two places. Remove the word "test" and insert right in front of ".mp3" thehttpaddress of themp3file that you want to use (the one you obtainded in the 4th stage and which should be uploaded on Fileupyours). In both places, only keep one ".mp3".
* Sixth stage:
Copy the generated HTML code and paste it your Wordpad file the "Models for mp3" for instance, to be able to work with it.

Now you just have to insert this HTML code into the corresponding place in the source of your blog post, but on the HTML tab.
Two things to notice:
- the Fileupyours host is rather strict. If one does not use the site during more than 25 days it just removes the account with all the files it contained.....
- From time to time, Blogger can "corrupt" the above HTML code (it can skip a line or two....). You'll just have to…realize it and then to replace it by reintegrating the good code at the right place.
