NOEL DANS 7 JOURS

Le chant de Noël de ce jour, symbole même de nos croyances et espoirs d'enfant, je le dédie à mes parents, qui ne sont plus - et plus particulièrement à ma mère - pour les magnifiques Noëls qu'ils nous offraient, à nous leurs enfants.
Rien ne manquait : l'arbre de Noël, la crèche magnifique, la famille autour de nous, les grand-parents, les oncles et tantes, les cousins et cousines, et surtout ... surtout les souliers devant la cheminée. Et les cadeaux !
Que de patience, de travail, de courage, et de sacrifices probablement, il leur a fallu faire, pour nous offrir tous ces Noëls, année après année, toujours aussi chaleureux. Qu'ils en soient remerciés.

A voir d'ailleurs les mailles du tissu familial tellement étirées, presque inexistantes, en sachant que tant sont partis, m'est avis que la fête maintenant c'est plutôt là-haut qu'elle se passe où ils doivent, tous réunis, bulles de champagne céleste aidant, rire et s'amuser plus et mieux que nous ici ... bas.

I dedicate the Christmas carol of this day, the very symbol our beliefs and hopes as a child, to my late parents - and more particularly to my mother - for the splendid Christmas they offered us, their children. There was nothing missing : the Christmas tree, a splendid crib, our family around us, grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins , and especially … especially the shoes in front of the chimney. And the presents !
What a patience, work, courage, and probably sacrifices they had to make in order to offer us all these Christmas, year after year, always so warm and hearty.

Let me thank them here for that.

Realizing how terribly stretched the mesh of the family fabric is, becoming almost non-existent, and knowing how many of them have left us, 'tis my opinion that the real feast is rather happening up there, where they must, all joined together and celestial champagne bubbles slightly helping, have more laughter and fun than us ... down here.
